What is a Knee Pivot Mechanism?

Knee Pivot Mechanisms are unique, and unlike most other mechanisms are mounted far forward so that the pivoting action is close to front edge of the seat. When properly mounted, shifting your weight to the back cushion will cause the chair to tilt rearwards and feet will remain flat on the floor.

We always recommend installing a temporary board to the bottom of the chair seat and attaching the Knee Pivot mechanism to the temporary board until the final positioning can be determined. When satisfied with the positioning, mark the placement and if desired remove the mechanism and temporary board. Replace the mechanism in the marked position.
